Farm
The Farm is where you grow crops on plots. Crops are pet food, crafting materials and items you can sell, and a planted plot keeps producing its crop until you uproot it. It unlocks at Missing game reference: unlockRequirement (see Ranks).
| Unlocks | Missing game reference: unlockRequirement |
|---|---|
| Takes in | Plots (bought with items), regular watering, optional fertilizer |
| Produces | Crops, plus Weeds and Red Mushrooms from watering, plus occasional rare crops |
| Affected by | Arbory, Vitality, Deluge, Overgrowth, Fecundity, Rainmaking Amulets |
Plots
A plot is one growing space. You can own as many plots as you can afford. Each plot holds one crop at a time, starts at level 1 and can be upgraded (see Plot levels).
A planted plot produces one crop each time its grow time passes. The crops pile up on the plot, so you do not need to be online for it to keep working. They only reach your inventory when you harvest. A plot that is empty produces nothing.
Crops
Each crop has its own grow time, shown here at plot level 1 with no boosts.
| Crop | Grow time per crop |
|---|---|
| Exotic Bean | 11 seconds |
| Blueberry | 20 seconds |
| Soybean | 35 seconds |
| Clover | 35 seconds |
| Golden Wheat | 70 seconds |
| Russet Potato | 70 seconds |
| Strawberry | 2.8 minutes |
| Kiwi | 4 minutes |
| Mango | 8 minutes |
| Melon | 15 minutes |
| Coconut | 3 hours |
| Pumpkin | 30 hours |
Slower crops are worth more each. Clover is a crafting material as well as a crop, so check recipes before selling a harvest.
Planting limits
You can only have a limited number of plots growing the same crop at once. Arbory raises that limit, so a bigger farm means mixing several crops until you have the perk levels to grow more of one. Planting into a plot that already holds a different crop replaces it, and the crops it had already grown are harvested first so nothing is lost.
Watering and harvesting
Watering and harvesting are separate actions.
- Watering moves every planted plot forward by Missing game reference: waterReduce of growth and gives you Weeds and Red Mushrooms. It has a cooldown, which is 30 minutes before perks. Deluge shortens it.
- Harvesting collects the crops that have finished growing. Watering alone does not harvest.
- You can combine the two by turning on Harvest on Water in the Gameplay Settings, or by using the water command with its harvest option (see Commands).
The first time you water, the cooldown is already ready. The amount of Weeds and Red Mushrooms you receive grows with the number of planted plots, and Overgrowth raises it further.
Rainmaking Amulets
Rainmaking Amulets are Equipment that cover for missed waterings. If one or more full watering cooldowns passed since you last watered, each equipped amulet is used up to cover one of them, and the watering you do then gives the extra growth and extra Weeds and Red Mushrooms for each amulet used. Several amulets stack.
Crop survival
Your crops die if you leave the farm without watering for Missing game reference: cropsDieTime. Until you reset it, a dead farm cannot be planted, watered or harvested. Vitality extends that window.
Water and harvest before you log off. Resetting a dead farm (salvaging it) collects what grew up to the moment the crops perished and restarts the survival timer.
Rare crops
Harvesting can also turn up the pet boost items Fragrant Dogrose, Mystical Rowan and Legendary Aguaje. The more crop value you harvest, the more of them you find. Fertilizer does not add to this chance, because it is based on the unboosted harvest. Fecundity raises it.
Plot levels
Each plot level lowers that plot's grow time by Missing game reference: pctGrowTimePerLv% of the base time, and the highest level is Missing game reference: maxPlotUpgradeLv. A level Missing game reference: maxPlotUpgradeLv plot grows a crop in a quarter of the base time. Upgrades cost items and get more demanding with each level.
Buying plots
Use Buy Plot on the Farm page. Your first plot is free. After that, each plot costs items, and each purchase makes the next one more expensive and more complex. There is no limit to how many you can own.
The buy and upgrade dialogs have a Craft automatically option that crafts any missing items from your ingredients, following the full ingredient chain (see Crafting). When upgrading you can choose a target level, which needs enough materials to reach it in one go, or use Max to upgrade as far as your resources allow. A new plot can also be bought and upgraded in one step.
Fertilizers
Fertilizers are temporary boosts for one plot. A boosted plot multiplies the crops it produces while the boost lasts, instead of making them grow faster.
| Fertilizer | Crop multiplier | Duration per item |
|---|---|---|
| Missing game reference: boostItem156 | 5 times | 12 hours |
| Missing game reference: boostItem157 | 20 times | 12 hours |
| Missing game reference: boostItem155 | 1,250 times | 24 hours |
- Enriching Fertilizer is crafted from Manure (from feeding Pets), Old Bones and Seaweed. Experimental Fertilizer is crafted from Enriching Fertilizer plus Mysterious Sludge. Gilded Manure is a rare item.
- A plot can only have one fertilizer type active. More of the same kind extends the time, while a different kind replaces the old one after you confirm.
- You must have watered within the last hour to apply a fertilizer.
Mass boosting
Mass Boost applies a fertilizer to many plots at once. Filters let you target boosted, unboosted or soon-expiring plots, and you can pick specific plots. The amount you enter is how many items each eligible plot gets. Check the number of target plots before you spend a large stack.
How the Farm connects to other features
- Pets eat crops, and feeding them gives XP and Manure, which becomes fertilizer. Cravings often ask for crops.
- Crops, Weeds and Red Mushrooms are inputs to Crafting. Crops can also be sold on the Market.
- Rare crops feed back into pets as boost items.
- The perks that change the Farm are Arbory, Vitality, Deluge, Overgrowth, Fecundity and Fecality (more Manure from feeding). See Prestige.
