Gemeralds
Gemeralds are coloured gems used to augment tools, in advanced Relay upgrades and in Transmutation.
What Lapidist unlocks
Lapidist is a Prestige Perk that adds Gemerald Augment slots to each tool. The target tool must reach its natural level 50 before you can apply or extend an Augment. Open that tool's modal and use its Augment controls.
Each perk level grants one slot per tool, up to four. A new gem colour uses a slot on the chosen tool. Using the same colour again extends its duration; it does not add another copy of that colour's multiplier. These are temporary action boosts, so plan an active session before consuming gems.
| Gemerald | Tool action multiplier | Duration per item |
|---|---|---|
| Green | 1.25x | 15 minutes |
| Amber | 1.5x | 30 minutes |
| Purple | 1.75x | 45 minutes |
| Red | 2x | 1 hour |
Pluperfect Gemerald is different. It is used in advanced Relay progression and Transmutation, rather than as one of these four ordinary Tool Augments. Keep it even if an old guide calls it useless.
Rare ingredients to recognise
These ingredients have uses beyond their inventory base price. Check recipes and your next unlock before selling or consuming them.
| Rare ingredient | An important use | Beginner caution |
|---|---|---|
| Neptune's Trident | Massive Driftnet Fish boost | Five Tridents are needed per craft |
| Mysterious Sludge | Mutagenic Sludge Hunt boost or Experimental Fertilizer | Both routes consume five; compare the benefit |
| Evil Tome | Cursed Charm Explore boost and its breeding use | A valuable ingredient even when you cannot use the boost yet |
| Alien Technology | Orbital Mining Laser Mine boost and later weapon recipes | Crafting a weapon spends the boost ingredient too |
| Lucky Charm | Rare-action luck and progression recipes | Keep upgrade requirements covered before using it for luck |
On Main, compare net Market proceeds with the resources an item would unlock for you. On restricted profiles, replacement can depend on your own drops or Depot stock. Ask before spending an unfamiliar rare; no fixed price list stays accurate forever.
