Every account Ascension grants 5 Runes. Prestige Perks usually cost a Rune per level and can change your economy, collection, or convenience. Start by deciding whether your next goal is faster account climbs, a stronger farm, pet development, or a particular unlock.

A practical starting approach

Nepotism reduces ranking costs; Anointment reduces Ascension costs. They are sensible early investments when repeated Ascensions are your goal. Spend discounts before the purchase they affect. Reassess when a production upgrade would unblock more progress than another discount.

Gourmand helps pet XP; Asterism raises the normal pet tier ceiling. Deluge and Vitality support frequent watering and longer absences respectively. Hypervisor extends Relay's active window. Your schedule matters: the best benefit is the one you can actually use.

Do not follow an old fixed Rune order simply because it gives an exact savings total. Current rank costs, your income, profile mode, and the bottleneck you are solving determine the value.

Perk reference

Goal Relevant perks and effects
Account climbs Nepotism lowers rank cost and Anointment lowers Ascension cost
Action finds Fortuity improves rare discovery and Amnesiac can ignore an action cooldown
Work Favoritism improves the chance of a Work bonus
Farm upkeep Deluge lowers watering cooldown and Vitality extends crop survival
Farm output Arbory raises same-crop limits and Overgrowth increases watering byproducts
Farm extras Fecundity improves rare crop output
Pet levels Gourmand improves craving XP and Asterism raises reincarnation limits
Pet capacity Gluttony increases energy and Menager adds idle pet and egg storage
Pet breeding Zootechny lowers breeding cost and Virility helps skip breeding waits
Pet byproducts Fecality increases Manure from feeding
Buddy switching Playboy lowers the swap cooldown

Menager storage is not extra Adventure capacity. Buy stables or use Golden Lariats for more simultaneous adventurers. A pet leveling goal can require food, energy space, and Asterism together; buying only the tier limit does not supply the other two.

Resetting perks

The Prestige interface offers Reset All for reallocating your build, with a one-week cooldown. A separate single-perk reset is only for a perk whose stored level exceeds its current maximum; it is not a general selective respec. Review the refund and restrictions before confirming.

A perk can create a dependency. Resetting an allowance or unlock does not mean all the systems it supported will continue working identically afterward. Check affected pets, tools, equipment, market prices, and storage before changing a mature build.

Spend for the next useful outcome

For a new Main profile, market access is earned through the Governor unlock. Mercantilist is a price-limit perk, so buying it to unlock the next item on an obsolete listing ladder wastes the reasoning behind the purchase. If a valuable item will not list high enough, then more Tier or Mercantilist may be relevant.

For Ironman or Hardcore, Mercantilist has another purpose: improving Depot selection. Insider can reduce Depot transaction costs, and Quartermaster helps when rerolls matter. The same Rune can have a different value on another mode.

Do not raise Coinflip stakes just to make your next essential upgrade depend on winning. Secure the farm, pets, food, and progression budget first. Optional minigames and Burn can wait until you decide what amount you are comfortable losing.
