History

Animal hides were previously available as Tough Leather, later called Raw Leather. They were exploration loot used in crafting, and Tattered Boots could also be converted into Leather using a Forge from game update v5.9.4 on July 11, 2021.

Game update v8.2.0 on November 7, 2023 removed Raw Leather, giving players Rubber Tires as a replacement. The same update introduced Rawhide as a craftable material made from animal pelts. Rawhide was later renamed to Tough Rawhide.
