The Pyre is a late-game feature where you can risk a pet in Altar rites to change it, and fuse relics into rarer ones through Coalescence.
The Pyre is an advanced, separately enabled feature with a Postmortal progression requirement. Use this chapter when the Pyre page is present and unlocked in your game. A page being described in the Manual does not by itself mean the feature is enabled on every server.
Altar rites put the selected pet at risk

Each rite acts on the pet you offer. On failure, that pet is permanently destroyed. You must own another pet, and cannot offer your Buddy, a pet on your buddy list, or a pet holding an item. Inspect the pet identity and survival odds before confirming.
| Rite | Primary effect if the pet survives |
|---|---|
| Cinder | Rerolls its aura with a possible Smoldering result |
| Ashen | Rerolls its skin with a possible Burnt result |
| Phoenix | Changes its species while keeping level tier skin and aura |
| Crown | Advances a developed tier 20 pet to Ascended and later Transcendent |
| Damnation | Permanently makes it Ravenous with a Damned Aura |
Survival and a successful cosmetic reroll are different rolls. Ordinary rite survival depends on tier, optional runes, and accumulated pity. Crown has its own rules. Higher tier improves some odds but is not blanket protection from losing the pet.
Runes and irreversible changes
Runes spent on rites are permanently consumed and cannot be recovered by a Prestige reset. Survival runes affect survival; eligible boost slots or focus runes affect the reroll outcome. Read the exact preview rather than assuming all runes do the same job.
Crown rites can take a fully developed pet beyond the normal tier 20 ceiling to tier 21 and then 22, resetting its level when successful. Damnation is permanent: a Ravenous pet's prospecting is stronger, but requires BC furnace fuel and siphons energy from your other pets. Its curse and Damned Aura cannot be removed by ordinary cosmetic changes.
Coalescence
Fuse Cinder Fragments into Ashen Relics, then Phoenix Ash, Charred Crowns, and ultimately Damned Intent. Each fusion can fail and consume its input. Overfeeding improves odds but never makes the fusion certain. Bulk attempts roll separately.
| Input | Batch | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Cinder Fragment | 20 | 1 Ashen Relic |
| Ashen Relic | 10 | 1 Phoenix Ash |
| Phoenix Ash | 10 | 1 Charred Crown |
| Charred Crown | 1,000 | 1 Damned Intent |
A normal batch has a 70% chance to succeed. You can overfeed up to 1.5 times the batch; each extra 0.1 times adds 4%, up to 90% at the full 1.5 times. A failed fuse loses the whole batch, overfeed included, with no refund.
Treat Pyre as a deliberate late goal. Keep an ordinary productive fleet and avoid risking a pet you are not prepared to lose.
