Pets are companions that go on Adventures by themselves, finding Fish, Hunt, Explore or Mine items while you are away, as long as they have energy.
Unlock Pets at Chanticleer. Hatch available eggs and send pets on Adventures to gather Fish, Hunt, Explore, or Mine items while you are away. A pet needs an adventuring slot and enough energy to work. Use Buy Stable at the bottom of Pets to increase the number you can keep adventuring; later storage perks also let you keep idle pets and eggs.
Start with a sustainable fleet

Food grants energy equal to its base BC value. A normal item found costs 75 energy. Higher pet levels and tiers improve production. Pets continue while energy lasts, so increasing your fleet also increases the food you need to supply.
Send each pet to its preferred action for its species bonus. Fish pets are a useful foundation because much of their output is edible. Add other specialists as you need their materials. A fixed ratio such as 7 Fish to 3 Hunt to 1 Explore to 1 Mine is a community starting point, not a guarantee: your boosts, levels, food reserves, cravings, and market access change what is sustainable.
Set a Buddy
Your Buddy provides a multiplier to its species' Loot Action while actively adventuring. Higher level and tier make it more useful. Choose the action you most want to improve. Buddy switching has a cooldown, reduced by Playboy, so plan swaps around a session rather than changing after every click.
Keep the Buddy working and fed. An idle pet does not provide the normal adventuring Buddy benefit. The Buddy can also use a held weapon during a main Boss attack, subject to its attack cooldown.
Collect and manage
Open a pet's backpack to claim output. Feeding and other pet interactions can also realize accumulated progress. The Manage controls support selection, filters, pins, bulk feeding, boosts, and Level Up. Check which pets are selected before using a bulk action; filters and Page or All Filtered help build the selection.
For routine energy refills, use Feed Selected with abundant food you can spare, such as common fishing output. Protect Electric Eels and any crops or crafted foods needed for upcoming recipes with deliberate selection and reserves. Cravings are for efficient leveling; filling energy is a different goal. Inspect Feed Everything and bulk selections before use. Feeding produces Manure for Farm and crafting needs.
Buy stables at a pace your food supply supports. An affordable stable is only the first part of its cost; the new pet still needs food and leveling resources.
