Join a main Boss fight
A Boss is a shared target associated with a Loot Action. Open the live Boss from Home or its announcement, choose a weapon and amount, and attack. Weapons are consumed. A small affordable hit is a reasonable early way to participate; expensive attacks should have a purpose beyond copying a late-game player.
Main Boss weakpoints increase damage from specified weapons. Eligible faction benefits and Buddy weapons can increase damage too. Faction participation for the current system counts online members while boosts are active; it does not require every member to make a token attack first.
Know what damage earns
When the Boss is defeated, participating players receive a strong High Personal Boost. Bounty amounts depend on qualifying base weapon damage, subject to a cap; faction, Buddy, and weakpoint bonuses do not simply multiply Bounties. A Special is allocated through contribution-weighted chance, and the killing blow grants a trophy.
Higher contribution improves your chance at weighted loot but does not guarantee it. An equipped Buddy weapon contributes damage under its own cooldown rules. Check its use and replacement cost. A fight's opening protection or overkill window can delay its final defeat even if displayed health has been exhausted.
Compare weapons using current costs
Do not craft Crystal Swords as a beginner. Each costs one Lunar Shard and one Imbued Sword, spending a valuable rare before the weapon is even used. A small affordable Rusty Knife attack is enough to begin participating in a main Boss fight. Save large weapon batches for a deliberate later plan that compares ingredients, base damage, weakpoints and rewards. Knife Turrets also have a separate use as Hunt boosts; do not spend a useful boost as a weapon without comparing the cost.
Minibosses have different rules
Minibosses are separate two-minute targets. They do not use faction, Buddy, or normal weakpoint damage multipliers. Their displayed Weakpoint Weapon instead changes gem-weighted contribution: its damage counts 2x for rewards, while other weapons count 0.5x. It does not change the actual health damage.
On a kill, attackers receive gem bag rewards with extra rewards for top contributors and eligibility thresholds. Participants also receive a 3x boost for that action. Some Minibosses carry a bonus Gem Bag, and a lucky reward can include Pluperfect Gemeralds. If the target flees, rewards are much smaller and there is no kill boost. Check the timer before spending a large batch.
