Boosts are multipliers on what your actions find or earn. They come from tools, Personal Boosts, items, your Buddy, Faction benefits and global events.
Different multiplier sources can multiply together. Two independent 2x boosts produce 4x, before other applicable sources. Your tool, Personal Boosts, item boosts, Buddy, faction benefits, and eligible global boosts can all contribute. Inspect the action's multiplier breakdown to see your current combination.
The six action boost tiers
Each item below supplies a 2x boost to its action. Different items stack; using more of the same item extends its duration instead of adding another independent 2x.
| Tier and duration | Fish | Hunt | Explore | Mine |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 for 15 minutes | Nautical Compass | Ornate Necklace | Painted Totem | Ancient Fossil |
| 2 for 30 minutes | Fish Finder | Sharktooth Necklace | Downy Parka | Dowsing Rod |
| 3 for 1 hour | Scout Submarine | Knife Turret | Survival Kit | Mecha Canary |
| 4 for 2 hours | Massive Driftnet | Mutagenic Sludge | Cursed Charm | Orbital Mining Laser |
| 5 for 4 hours | Magic Conch | Untamed Spirit | Seraphic Clasp | Condemned Skull |
| 6 for 8 hours | Atlantic Obol | Hunter's Blind | Daoic Seal | Subterran Crest |
Fancy Crates are a useful source of tier 1 boosts. Use affordable boosts during sessions where you will perform enough actions to benefit. Add stronger tiers when their extra output justifies their ingredients or market value. Saving every common boost forever also delays progress.
Personal Boosts
Loot Actions can trigger a Low or High Personal Boost for an action and refill that action's charge. Low boosts are 2x to 3x for 5 minutes; High boosts are 4x to 5x for 15 minutes. Low and High can coexist. A successful main Boss kill grants participants a strong High boost with a contribution-based duration.
Rare item luck is separate
Ordinary action multipliers increase normal output, not the chance of a Rare Item discovery. Lucky Charm and Fortuity specifically affect rare discovery. They do not improve Lunar Shard opening odds. Compare Lucky Charms' use as upgrade ingredients before consuming them for luck.
