Boosts are the temporary and permanent multipliers that raise how much an Action gives. A Boost applies to one specific Action, and every source on that Action multiplies with the others, so two 2x sources make 4x.

Applies to One Action at a time (Fish, Hunt, Explore, Mine or Work)
Comes from Tools, Boost Items, Personal Boosts, Gemerald Augments, your Buddy, Faction boosts, global boosts
Combines by Multiplication

How sources stack

[edit | edit source]

Each Action shows a breakdown of its current multiplier. Every source below is multiplied together to get the total.

Source Loot Actions Work
Tool level Yes, the base multiplier No
Your rank No Yes, the rank number itself
Ascension Tier No Yes, a bonus that grows with each Tier
Boost Items and Personal Boosts Yes Only boosts that target Work
Gemerald Augments Yes No
Buddy Yes, when the Buddy matches the Action No
Faction boost Yes No
Global boosts Yes Yes
Fueled Mint No Yes
An active Boss Slightly lowers the matching Action No

Different Boost Items stack with each other. Using more of the same Boost Item extends its time instead of adding another independent 2x. Boosts only raise ordinary output. They do not change the chance of a Rare Item find. That chance is raised by the Lucky Charm item and the Fortuity Prestige perk.

Boost Items

[edit | edit source]

A Boost Item is an Item that gives a 2x boost to one Action for a set time when used. There are six tiers for each Loot Action. A higher tier lasts longer and costs more to make, and the highest tier needs Rare Items.

Tier and time Fish Hunt Explore Mine
1, 15 minutes Nautical Compass Ornate Necklace Painted Totem Ancient Fossil
2, 30 minutes Fish Finder Sharktooth Necklace Downy Parka Dowsing Rod
3, 1 hour Scout Submarine Knife Turret Survival Kit Mecha Canary
4, 2 hours Massive Driftnet Mutagenic Sludge Cursed Charm Orbital Mining Laser
5, 4 hours Magic Conch Untamed Spirit Seraphic Clasp Condemned Skull
6, 8 hours Atlantic Obol Hunter's Blind Daoic Seal Subterran Crest

A Daily Reward Fancy Crate often drops tier 1 Boost Items when opened, so using those before a session is an easy way to start stacking boosts.

Personal Boosts

[edit | edit source]

A Personal Boost is a random boost that can trigger whenever you run a Loot Action. It applies to one of the four Loot Actions chosen at random, not always the one you just ran. When it triggers, that Action's cooldown is also fully reset.

  • A Low Personal Boost is a 2x to 3x multiplier for 5 minutes.
  • A High Personal Boost is a 4x to 5x multiplier for 15 minutes. It is much rarer than Low.
  • The chance of a Personal Boost grows with how charged the Action was when you ran it.
  • An Action that already has that Personal Boost active cannot roll the same one again. Low and High can be active together.
  • Defeating a main Boss can also give participants a strong boost, based on their contribution.

Global boosts

[edit | edit source]

A global boost multiplies one Action for all players currently online in the same pool. A message announces it when it starts. Global boosts stack with all your other sources.

They come from Specials called Amplifiers, which are very hard to get. One source is the Burn leaderboard.

Special What it does
Calibrated Amplifier A 2x boost to its own Action for 20 minutes. Only one can be active per Action, and another of the same Action cannot be used for an hour afterwards.
Arbitrary Amplifier A 2x boost for 20 minutes to an Action you choose. At most two Calibrated and Arbitrary Amplifiers can be active together on one Action.
Noetic Pulsator Resets every Action's cooldown for everyone. After one is used, the next cannot be used for 5 minutes.

Main profiles share one pool of global boosts and Ironman profiles share a separate pool. Hardcore profiles do not share boosts with others: their own Amplifiers and Pulsators only help themselves. See Profile Modes.

Faction boosts

[edit | edit source]

A Faction can switch on a boost for any Loot Action. While it runs, it constantly drains Faction Points from the Faction's Vault, and every member gets the multiplier for that Action as long as the Vault stays funded. A higher boost is stronger but drains the Vault much faster. Boosts can run on every Loot Action at once. Hardcore profiles, which have no Faction, can fund a boost from their personal Vault instead.

Mass boosting

[edit | edit source]

Mass boosting applies a boost item to many Pets or Farm plots at once instead of one by one. These are Pet and Farm boosts, not Action boosts.

  • For Pets, select the Pets in the bulk actions list first. Idle Pets cannot be boosted.
  • For the Farm, toggles narrow which plots are boosted (already boosted or not, or expiring soon). Unplanted plots are always skipped.
  • Replace existing boosts decides whether a boost of a different tier replaces the current one. A boost of the same tier always extends the current one.
  • Amount per target sets how many boost items go on each target. The Max option splits your whole stack evenly across all eligible targets.
  • A preview shows how many targets will be boosted and how many items are needed before you confirm. If a target stops being eligible in between, nothing is spent.

How Boosts connect to other features

[edit | edit source]
  • Tools give the base multiplier, and their Augments are a boost source.
  • Pets provide the Buddy multiplier.
  • Factions provide the Faction boost.
  • Specials provide Amplifiers and Pulsators.
  • Mint fuel boosts Work.
  • Ranks and Ascension set the Work multiplier.
  • Quests: higher multipliers find more of a Quest's Items.

Changelog

[edit | edit source]
Release date Update Changes
September 2, 2026 v2026.09.02
  • A bulk set’s Use button greys out if you own none of the boosts.
  • The Use button shows a countdown when the amplifiers in the set are on cooldown.
  • On hardcore profiles the button now respects amplifier cooldowns.
  • Calibrated Amplifier rows in the set editor no longer offer a 2x option.
August 17, 2026 v2026.08.17.2

Improvements

  • Bulk-using a saved boost set now tells you which item’s amount was too high instead of showing a bare, confusing number comparison.

Bug Fixes

  • On hardcore and seasonal profiles, Amplifiers and Pulsators you own now appear under the pinned category consistently.
August 16, 2026 v2026.08.16
  • Amplifiers used through a bulk set are now properly consumed from your account. Previously they were not removed and could be reused indefinitely.
August 14, 2026 v2026.08.14.2
  • Calibrated Amplifier rows now show which action they target.
  • This finally makes them includable in bulk sets!
August 10, 2026 v2026.08.10
  • Obscure Sigil no longer extends the duration of self-only Calibrated/Arbitrary Amplifier boosts on hardcore profiles.
August 9, 2026 v2026.08.09
  • Personal boosts (T4–T6): combine boosts + Pluperfect Gemeralds to make the next tier, or swap 3 boosts you don’t use into 1 boost you do (same tier).
August 7, 2026 v2026.08.07.3

New Features

  • Save named groups of boosts (either boost items or amplifiers) and use the whole set with one click from the Items sidebar.
  • Each set has its own emoji and name; boosts inside are sorted automatically by tier and action. Manage sets in the item-categories modal.
  • Editor has a Copy button that gives the chat command for the set so you can bind it to a hotkey.
  • Using a set consumes everything at once. Amplifiers that are capped or on cooldown are skipped and you’ll be shown a report; if anything in the set is on cooldown you’ll be asked to confirm first.
  • To be clear: you configure the bulk sets at the very bottom of Items -> Categories modal. Add items or specials (only one per section, can’t mix both) and save. You will see your bulk boosts in sidebar then, which you can toggle visibility on/off using the same bullseye icon that you already had before.

Bug Fixes

  • If the Amnesiac perk triggers while a Noetic Pulsator is active, it is no longer wasted and the charge is preserved.
July 30, 2026 v2026.07.30
  • Hardcore and seasonal profiles no longer see the Noetic Pulsator or Arbitrary Amplifier in the Special Store since they can’t use them.
July 29, 2026 v2026.07.29.3
  • Self-only Calibrated Amplifiers, Arbitrary Amplifiers, and Noetic Pulsators can now be found and added to inventory categories without causing errors.
July 11, 2026 v2026.07.11
  • Home boosts list shows “Personal” instead of “Item” for personal item boosts.
  • Item modals now show a green “Active for <time left>” line while a boost item or Gemerald augment is running.
July 10, 2026 v2026.07.10

Improvements

  • Active Gemerald augments now appear in the Home Boosts.
  • The Boosts panel is now a collapsible tree. Each level shows a combined multiplier and the soonest expiry; you can collapse or expand levels.
  • A view button by Help switches between the tree and a plain list and offers Expand all / Collapse all.
  • When a boost row has more icons than fit, the strip scrolls horizontally.

Bug Fixes

  • Arbitrary Amplifier action picker buttons stop resizing as cooldowns tick down.
July 9, 2026 v2026.07.09.2

Improvements

  • Combined boost multipliers on the Home page drop trailing decimals (e.g. “6×” instead of “6.00×”) and now follow your compact numbers setting.

Bug Fixes

  • Very large stacked boost durations now show their true length (for example a ~150‑year reads as 150 years instead of an incorrect shorter value of 6 years or so).
July 9, 2026 v2026.07.09
  • The Arbitrary Amplifier special can be used on Work again.
July 7, 2026 v2026.07.07

Improvements

  • Collapsed boost categories now show their active boost icons and a countdown for anything ending within a day without expanding, hover/click an icon for the full bar.

Bug Fixes

  • Using an Arbitrary Amplifier or Forbidden Modifier repeatedly from the same open modal no longer fails on the second use.
June 28, 2026 v2026.06.28
  • Each boost category heading now shows the combined multiplier total (for example Fish (4×)) before the collapse chevron so you can see totals at a glance.
June 27, 2026 v2026.06.27
  • Boost item names show their tier (for example: Nautical Compass (T1), Massive Driftnet (T4)) in the item modal, inventory, bulk-boost dropdowns, item lists, and market listings.
  • The active Boosts panel on Overview now shows tiers for personal and boss boosts (for example: Elvish Spirit (T1 Low); a maxed boss boost reads (T2 High)).
May 5, 2026 v2026.05.05
  • The Use button for Calibrated Amplifiers (and similar Specials) now respects the real server cooldown – it stays disabled for the full cooldown even after the boost effect ends, so what you see matches what the server enforces.
  • Arbitrary Amplifier picker now disables action buttons when that action already has the server-side max active boosts, and shows a countdown to the nearest expiry so you know when you can add another.
  • The Bulk Pet / Bulk Farm Boost dialog replaced the single dropdown with independent toggles (Pinned, Boosted, Expiring). Turn any toggle on and choose Yes/No – toggles combine together so you can do things like “pinned + unboosted” in one go.
  • Text command support: compound filters work in commands, e.g. /bulkpetboost <item> 1 pinned,unboosted or /bulkpetboost <item> 1 unboosted,expiring:1h.
April 8, 2026 Relay Preparations
  • The game now counts how many times global boosts are used (this covers the global boost commands you already know).
  • Historical uses have been backfilled from past logs, so overall stats/leaderboards that show boost usage will include past activity too.
March 27, 2026 v2026.03.27
  • Mass pet & farm boosting. (TheDepartedOne)
    • You can now boost all your pets or farm plots in a single operation instead of boosting each one individually.
    • In the pet management modal, click Bulk Boost to open the boosting UI. Same for farming – click Manage Farm and use the Bulk Boost button there.
    • You can filter targets by: all active, unboosted only, or expiring within a custom duration. A preview panel shows how many items you’ll spend and what existing boosts would be replaced.
    • There’s also a Replace existing boosts toggle if you want to overwrite lower-tier boosts with better ones.
