Boosts are the temporary and permanent multipliers that raise how much an Action gives. A Boost applies to one specific Action, and every source on that Action multiplies with the others, so two 2x sources make 4x.
| Applies to | One Action at a time (Fish, Hunt, Explore, Mine or Work) |
|---|---|
| Comes from | Tools, Boost Items, Personal Boosts, Gemerald Augments, your Buddy, Faction boosts, global boosts |
| Combines by | Multiplication |
How sources stack
Each Action shows a breakdown of its current multiplier. Every source below is multiplied together to get the total.
| Source | Loot Actions | Work |
|---|---|---|
| Tool level | Yes, the base multiplier | No |
| Your rank | No | Yes, the rank number itself |
| Ascension Tier | No | Yes, a bonus that grows with each Tier |
| Boost Items and Personal Boosts | Yes | Only boosts that target Work |
| Gemerald Augments | Yes | No |
| Buddy | Yes, when the Buddy matches the Action | No |
| Faction boost | Yes | No |
| Global boosts | Yes | Yes |
| Fueled Mint | No | Yes |
| An active Boss | Slightly lowers the matching Action | No |
Different Boost Items stack with each other. Using more of the same Boost Item extends its time instead of adding another independent 2x. Boosts only raise ordinary output. They do not change the chance of a Rare Item find. That chance is raised by the Lucky Charm item and the Fortuity Prestige perk.
Boost Items
A Boost Item is an Item that gives a 2x boost to one Action for a set time when used. There are six tiers for each Loot Action. A higher tier lasts longer and costs more to make, and the highest tier needs Rare Items.
| Tier and time | Fish | Hunt | Explore | Mine |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1, 15 minutes | Nautical Compass | Ornate Necklace | Painted Totem | Ancient Fossil |
| 2, 30 minutes | Fish Finder | Sharktooth Necklace | Downy Parka | Dowsing Rod |
| 3, 1 hour | Scout Submarine | Knife Turret | Survival Kit | Mecha Canary |
| 4, 2 hours | Massive Driftnet | Mutagenic Sludge | Cursed Charm | Orbital Mining Laser |
| 5, 4 hours | Magic Conch | Untamed Spirit | Seraphic Clasp | Condemned Skull |
| 6, 8 hours | Atlantic Obol | Hunter's Blind | Daoic Seal | Subterran Crest |
A Daily Reward Fancy Crate often drops tier 1 Boost Items when opened, so using those before a session is an easy way to start stacking boosts.
Personal Boosts
A Personal Boost is a random boost that can trigger whenever you run a Loot Action. It applies to one of the four Loot Actions chosen at random, not always the one you just ran. When it triggers, that Action's cooldown is also fully reset.
- A Low Personal Boost is a Missing game reference: lowPBMinMultx to Missing game reference: lowPBMaxMultx multiplier for Missing game reference: lowPBDuration.
- A High Personal Boost is a Missing game reference: highPBMinMultx to Missing game reference: highPBMaxMultx multiplier for Missing game reference: highPBDuration. It is much rarer than Low.
- The chance of a Personal Boost grows with how charged the Action was when you ran it.
- An Action that already has that Personal Boost active cannot roll the same one again. Low and High can be active together.
- Defeating a main Boss can also give participants a strong boost, based on their contribution.
Global boosts
A global boost multiplies one Action for all players currently online in the same pool. A message announces it when it starts. Global boosts stack with all your other sources.
They come from Specials called Amplifiers, which are very hard to get. One source is the Burn leaderboard.
| Special | What it does |
|---|---|
| Calibrated Amplifier | A 2x boost to its own Action for 20 minutes. Only one can be active per Action, and another of the same Action cannot be used for an hour afterwards. |
| Arbitrary Amplifier | A 2x boost for 20 minutes to an Action you choose. At most two Calibrated and Arbitrary Amplifiers can be active together on one Action. |
| Noetic Pulsator | Resets every Action's cooldown for everyone. After one is used, the next cannot be used for 5 minutes. |
Main profiles share one pool of global boosts and Ironman profiles share a separate pool. Hardcore profiles do not share boosts with others: their own Amplifiers and Pulsators only help themselves. See Profile Modes.
Faction boosts
A Faction can switch on a boost for any Loot Action. While it runs, it constantly drains Faction Points from the Faction's Vault, and every member gets the multiplier for that Action as long as the Vault stays funded. A higher boost is stronger but drains the Vault much faster. Boosts can run on every Loot Action at once. Hardcore profiles, which have no Faction, can fund a boost from their personal Vault instead.
Mass boosting
Mass boosting applies a boost item to many Pets or Farm plots at once instead of one by one. These are Pet and Farm boosts, not Action boosts.
- For Pets, select the Pets in the bulk actions list first. Idle Pets cannot be boosted.
- For the Farm, toggles narrow which plots are boosted (already boosted or not, or expiring soon). Unplanted plots are always skipped.
- Replace existing boosts decides whether a boost of a different tier replaces the current one. A boost of the same tier always extends the current one.
- Amount per target sets how many boost items go on each target. The Max option splits your whole stack evenly across all eligible targets.
- A preview shows how many targets will be boosted and how many items are needed before you confirm. If a target stops being eligible in between, nothing is spent.
How Boosts connect to other features
- Tools give the base multiplier, and their Augments are a boost source.
- Pets provide the Buddy multiplier.
- Factions provide the Faction boost.
- Specials provide Amplifiers and Pulsators.
- Mint fuel boosts Work.
- Ranks and Ascension set the Work multiplier.
- Quests: higher multipliers find more of a Quest's Items.
