Ranks are the core way your account progresses. There are 60 ranks, from Peasant at the bottom to God at the top. A higher rank raises your Work pay, and reaching certain ranks lets you unlock new features.

Takes in BC for each rank
Produces A higher rank number, which multiplies Work pay, and feature unlocks
Next step Ascension once you reach God
Affected by Your Ascension Tier and the Nepotism Prestige perk

What a rank does

[edit | edit source]

Your rank number is multiplied straight into your Work earnings. At rank 21 your Work pays 21 times the base amount. Ranks are therefore one of the biggest long-term investments for BC income. Ranks do not change what Loot Actions give. See Boosts for how the Work multiplier is made up.

Ranking up

[edit | edit source]

Ranking up costs BC.

  • The cost of each rank rises along a steep curve. God is the only rank that reaches the top cost of 200 million BC. Every earlier rank costs less.
  • Each Ascension Tier makes every rank cost more. At Tier 1 each rank costs twice as much as in the first climb, at Tier 2 three times as much, and so on.
  • You can rank up several ranks at once if you can afford them.
  • The Tier / Rank control sets a destination to climb to. Use Tier 0 to aim at a rank in your first climb, before any Ascension. The destination must be ahead of your current progress.
  • The Nepotism Prestige perk lowers rank costs by up to 50% at its top level.
Rank Cost to reach it in your first climb (about)
Farmhand (rank 2) 21,000 BC
Chanticleer (rank 10) 1.1 million BC
Dandy (rank 20) 7.8 million BC
Marquis (rank 31) 28 million BC
Technocrat (rank 39) 56 million BC
Harbinger (rank 47) 98 million BC
Postmortal (rank 54) 148 million BC
God (rank 60) 200 million BC

Feature unlocks

[edit | edit source]

Reaching a rank or Tier makes you eligible for a feature. Then you open the feature's page and press Unlock. An unlock is kept for good, even after an Ascension sends your rank back to Peasant. After you Ascend, every rank requirement counts as met.

Feature Needs Opens after
Farm Farmhand Rank (rank 2) Available first
Factions Recruit Rank (rank 4) Available first
Pets Chanticleer Rank (rank 10) Farm
Market or Supply Depot Governor Rank (rank 11) Factions
Coinflip Dandy Rank (rank 20) Market or Supply Depot
Museum Aristocrat Rank (rank 21) Pets
Ball Pit Marquis Rank (rank 31) Coinflip
Relay Network Technocrat Rank (rank 39) Museum
Burn Harbinger Rank (rank 47) Relay Network
Pyre Postmortal Rank (rank 54) Burn
Prestige Tier I Ball Pit
Fun House Tier V Prestige

Pages are shown step by step. A page is revealed only once the one before it in the table has been unlocked, and the next locked page is shown as a preview. The Market is for Main profiles and the Supply Depot is for Ironman and Hardcore profiles. Hardcore profiles have no Factions or Ball Pit, so those steps are skipped. See Profile Modes.

Selling Items to climb

[edit | edit source]

For Farm, Pets, Factions, the Market and the Museum, your first climb can be funded partly by Items. Instead of paying BC only, the rank-up window can count the value of your inventory and sell Items at their base value to cover what you are missing, but only while you are still short of that feature's requirement.

The ladder

[edit | edit source]

The ranks, in order, are: Peasant, Farmhand, Mason, Recruit, Ensign, Soldat, Captain, Admiral, Warden, Chanticleer, Governor, Viceroy, Count, Earl, Duke, Magistrate, Colonel, Commander, Knight, Dandy, Aristocrat, Kingpin, Agent, Baron, Attache, Minister, Chairman, Khagan, Taoiseach, Politarch, Marquis, Liege, Sovereign, Dauphin, Primor, Consul, President, Ruler, Technocrat, Herald, Sentinel, Evincor, Legate, Arcanus, Spirit, Legend, Harbinger, Archon, Enlightened, Paragon, Quaesitor, Prophet, Riftwalker, Postmortal, Avatar, Eternal, Divine, Deity, Demigod and God.

How Ranks connect to other features

[edit | edit source]
  • Actions: rank multiplies Work pay.
  • Ascension: God is the last rank, and Ascending resets your rank to Peasant.
  • Prestige: Nepotism lowers rank costs.
  • Items: early climbs can be helped by selling Items.
  • The feature pages above each unlock at a rank.

Changelog

[edit | edit source]
Release date Update Changes
October 5, 2026 v2026.10.05.2
  • Two rank titles added: 🎩 Dandy and 🪑 Chairman, replacing “Overseer” and “Regent”
October 5, 2026 v2026.10.05
  • “Bum” is now called “Farmhand”, “Commoner” is now Mason.
  • Chanticleer now follows Warden, and ranks between are shifted up by one.
October 4, 2026 v2026.10.04

New Features

  • Adds two new ranks into the lineup: Duke (🔥) and Technocrat (🛸).

Improvements

  • Progression features now unlock at specific ranks: Museum at Aristocrat, Relay Network at Technocrat, Burn at Harbinger, and Pyre at Postmortal.
  • These game mechanics can now all be accessed before Tier I.
September 18, 2026 v2026.09.18
  • The header rank progress bar is blue by default and now turns purple only when it’s full and crossing into a new tier
  • The moving stripes on the bar now only appear when the bar is completely full.
September 17, 2026 v2026.09.17
  • Rank Up previews and actions no longer accidentally claim or perform a Tier I ascension before God. ‘Maximum Affordable’ now stops at the highest rank you can actually buy.
August 16, 2026 v2026.08.16
  • Setting a target and turning on “Apply to progress bar” now makes the header progress bar actually track that target, and reopening the modal remembers your saved target.
  • You can pick a new “None” targeting option to clear a target without losing your saved tier/rank/mode.
  • The rank dropdown now shows each rank’s number.
  • “Maximum you can reach” shows more reliably and won’t duplicate when targeting “Max affordable”.
  • The Advance button will now advance as far as you can currently afford within your tier (not just one rank), and only appears when that is different from your main target.
August 14, 2026 v2026.08.14
  • Rank Up offers a one-step Advance Once action (targeting still optional), and rank reference pages are now accessible from the footer menu.
August 13, 2026 v2026.08.13
  • The Rank Up modal footer now shows your current BC balance, same as most other modals in the game.
  • When not using a targeted goal, if you have enough BC to ascend the modal now also shows the maximum tier and rank you can currently reach.
August 10, 2026 v2026.08.10
  • Clicking the rank bar at the top now opens a 🌟 Rank Up window instead of instantly ranking up.
  • From that window you can rank up and ascend all the way to a chosen tier and rank (or as far as your BC allows) in one click.
  • Leave “Targeted rank up” unchecked to keep the old behaviour: rank up as far as you can afford in your current tier, or ascend once if you’re already at God.
  • Turn on “Apply to progress bar” to make the top bar fill toward your chosen goal instead of just the next rank.
  • The bar keeps its striped “you can do this now” look whenever you can afford at least one step. This might need a change later on to only show when actual rank is higher than current rank, even in next tier.
  • Big multi-tier jumps only broadcast your final tier.
July 28, 2026 v2026.07.28.2
  • Demigods now see God listed as their next rank instead of being told they’re already at max rank.
April 13, 2025 Game Update (04-13-2025)
  • Nepotism, Anointment
    • Perk benefit decreased to 2.5% per level (from 5%)
    • Maximum perk level increased to 20 (from 10)
April 5, 2025 Prestige Perks Revamp
