Actions are your main hands-on way to earn. Four of them, Fish, Hunt, Explore and Mine, are Loot Actions that give you Items. The fifth, Work, gives you BC directly. Each one can be repeated after a short cooldown.
| Takes in | Nothing, only time (each Action has its own cooldown) |
|---|---|
| Produces | Items from Loot Actions, BC from Work |
| Scaled by | How charged the Action is, plus your multipliers |
| Affected by | Tools, Boosts, Buddy, Faction boosts, Recovery, the Mint, Prestige perks |
Cooldown and charge
[edit | edit source]Every Action has two timers that start when you run it:
- Ready time: the Action cannot be used again until this has passed.
- Full charge: the Action keeps charging after it is ready, until the bar is full.
What an Action gives scales in a straight line with its charge. An Action at half charge gives about half as much as a full one, so there is no need to click the moment it becomes ready. You can play often or come back for fuller bars.
| Action | Gives | Ready after | Full charge after |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fish | Loot, mostly pet food and aquatic ingredients | 30 seconds | 5 minutes |
| Hunt | Loot, food and hunting ingredients | 42 seconds | 7 minutes |
| Explore | Loot, logs, plants and crafting materials | 1 minute | 10 minutes |
| Mine | Loot, ores, minerals and industrial materials | 2 minutes | 20 minutes |
| Work | BC | 6 minutes | 1 hour |
Several things can change when an Action is available. A Personal Boost fully refills the boosted Action. The Recovery Bay can cut a Loot Action's remaining cooldown. The Amnesiac Prestige perk gives a chance that the Action's cooldown is ignored, so you can run it again straight away for the same charge. A Noetic Pulsator (see Specials) resets every Action's cooldown for all online players. Work has its own cooldown cut from a fueled Mint.
Loot Actions
[edit | edit source]Each Loot Action has its own pool of Items, and each Item in the pool has its own rarity. Running an Action at higher charge and with higher multipliers finds more Items from the pool. Found Items go into your inventory, or are sold straight away if you have set them to Autosell.
- Multipliers raise the number of Items found per run. They stack by multiplying. See Boosts for every source and Tools for the base multiplier.
- Rare Items are a separate roll on each run. Ordinary multipliers do not change the chance of a Rare Item. The Fortuity Prestige perk and the Lucky Charm item do.
- Quests count the Items you find from Loot Actions. See Quests.
- A Loot Action can also, rarely, turn up a Pet egg from the wild, as long as you have room for it. See Pets.
- A Loot Action can also trigger a Personal Boost, see Personal Boosts.
Work
[edit | edit source]Work pays BC instead of Items. At full charge it pays a base of 500,000 BC, scaled by your charge, then multiplied by your total Work multiplier. That total is made of:
- Your rank number. Rank 21 means 21 times the base pay.
- A bonus that grows with your Ascension Tier. Early Tiers add the most and later Tiers add less.
- Boost effects on Work, such as an active global boost.
- The Mint Work Amplifier, if your Mint is fueled.
Work Actions do not use a Tool, a Buddy or a Faction boost.
Work bonuses
[edit | edit source]Each Work run also rolls for a bonus on top of the base pay. The roll starts with the biggest bonus and works down, and you get the first one that hits.
| Bonus | Chance per run |
|---|---|
| 100 times the base pay | 1% |
| 20 times the base pay | 5% |
| 10 times the base pay | 10% |
| 5 times the base pay | 20% |
The Favoritism Prestige perk raises these chances. The bonus is added to the base pay before your multipliers are applied.
What each Action connects to
[edit | edit source]| Feature | How it connects |
|---|---|
| Tools | One Tool per Loot Action sets its base multiplier. |
| Boosts | Boost Items, Personal Boosts, Global Boosts and Faction Boosts multiply what an Action gives. |
| Pets | A Buddy on an adventure that matches the Action adds to its multiplier. |
| Factions | A funded Faction Boost multiplies a Loot Action for every member. |
| Recovery | A fueled Recovery Bay can cut Loot Action cooldowns, and can bank extra quest finds. |
| Mint | Fuel gives Work a bigger payout and a chance to cut the Work cooldown. |
| Quests and Achievements | Loot Action finds move Quests forward, and the number of times you act counts toward Achievements. |
| Ranks | Your rank multiplies Work pay. |
| Bosses | While a Boss tied to one Loot Action is active, that Action's multiplier is slightly reduced. |
History
[edit | edit source]In Game Update (01-10-2021), the earlier Explore action was renamed to Work, while a new Explore action let players find Items. Fishing, Hunting and Mining were added as separate Loot Actions in game update v5.7.0 on June 21, 2021.
Players originally improved Loot Action rewards by equipping individual Items, such as Fishing Rods and Iron Pickaxes. Game update v8.2.0 on November 7, 2023 replaced that system with Action Tools.
