Items are the goods of Bconomy. The Items page is both your inventory and a reference for every Item in the game, so you can look up where an Item comes from and what it is for even when you own none.

Most Items start as basic materials found by running Loot Actions (Fish, Hunt, Explore and Mine, see Actions). Basic materials can be crafted into better Items, which feed Boosts, Tools, the Relay Network, Pets and the Farm. Some Items are far harder to find: see Rare Items. Items that are tracked one by one with their own attributes are Specials, a separate class.

Looking up an Item

[edit | edit source]

Search for any Item and open its card. The card shows what the Item is used for, where it can be found, its recipe if it has one, and which other recipes use it. Check the card before you sell or spend something, especially a material you might need later.

Worth and Market price

[edit | edit source]

Every Item has a worth: the BC you get for selling it straight from your inventory. Worth is also the base that other game systems calculate from.

The Market price is a separate thing. It is whatever players are listing and paying, so it can be much higher than worth for an Item that is scarce or in demand. Rare Items and crafting bottlenecks are the usual cases. Restricted profiles cannot use the Market and use the Supply Depot instead (see Profile Modes).

Some Items are bound to your account or kept off the Market. These can never be listed, sold or given away, though you can still use them.

Selling

[edit | edit source]

Selling an Item from your inventory pays its worth in BC straight away, after a confirmation. It is permanent: sold Items are gone. Treat worth as a floor, and check the Market price first for anything valuable.

Reserves

[edit | edit source]

A Reserve is an amount of an Item you want to keep back. Bulk actions that spend many Items at once, such as feeding or levelling Pets with everything available, leave your reserved amount alone. Set a Reserve on materials you are saving for a recipe or upgrade. A Reserve is a guard for bulk actions, not a lock on the Item.

Autosell

[edit | edit source]

Autosell sets a limit on how many of an Item you hold. Whenever you find more than the limit, the extra is sold at once and the BC is added to your balance. This keeps your inventory tidy and gives you a steady buffer of each Item.

Leave Autosell off for anything you need for progression and for Rare Items. Autosell applies to Items you find, including Items from opened containers. Once Items are autosold they cannot be recovered.

Pinning and categories

[edit | edit source]

You can pin Items so they sit at the top of your inventory, and reorder the pinned list. You can also build your own categories to group Items the way you work, for example a category for the materials of one recipe. A category can hide its Items elsewhere in the list so they do not show twice.

Equipping and using

[edit | edit source]

Some Items do their job when used, such as Boosts and Gem Bags. A few do their job while worn: see Equipment. Pet food and held Items are handled from the Pets page.

Item containers

[edit | edit source]

Containers are Items that give other Items when opened. They include Fancy Crates, Exquisite Trunks, Lunar Shards, Gem Bags and the Ocean, Forest, Hillside and Cavern Bounties. Each container has its own reward pool. Containers are consumed when opened.

Changelog

[edit | edit source]
Release date Update Changes
October 30, 2026 v2026.10.30

New Features

  • Copy your categories and bulk sets to the clipboard and import them later.
  • When importing, choose to merge them with what you have or replace what you have.

Improvements

  • Items and bulk sets are now streamlined to look and feel the same way, with all sections collapsed to avoid clutter.
  • Bulk sets show the amount of items you currently own.
  • Clicking a pinned bulk set opens the modal directly to that set.
August 27, 2026 v2026.08.27
  • Fixed many actions which could have caused values over safe int value (~9.1Q) to throw an error. People who reach that amount of worth in inventory would have crashed the whole game (for themselves), which is no longer the case.
August 22, 2026 v2026.08.22
  • You can use, craft, (un)lock or pin a whole selection of items at once from the Items page instead of doing them one-by-one.
  • Each item will use the amount set in that item’s “Value to use on item card” preference (holding Shift still means max).
  • The Pin button is now a dropdown showing all your categories so you can put the selection into any category, not just Pinned.
August 16, 2026 v2026.08.16

New Features

  • You can lock a usable item so it can’t be used by accident by using 🔒 Lock button in item modal.
  • While locked all controls that use the item are disabled.
  • Bulk sets that contain any locked item won’t execute until you unlock that item.

Bug Fixes

  • Collapsing the item details in an item’s info popup no longer hides the Use / Equip / Sell buttons.
August 12, 2026 v2026.08.12.2
  • Lootbox reward popups (shards, trunks, bounties, gem bags) now have a “Don’t show this again for <item>” checkbox.
  • If you check it, that item will open without a popup next time. You still get the confetti, sound, and a game-log line, just no popup.
  • The setting is per item, so other lootboxes will keep showing their popups.
  • You can undo everything with the new “Reset Lootbox Popups” button under Settings → Gameplay → Actions & Confirmations.
August 4, 2026 v2026.08.04
  • Selecting all items and pressing Sell will no longer crash if the selection contains items you don’t actually own.
August 1, 2026 v2026.08.01
  • You can type ‘owned‘ in any amount box to mean how many of that item you currently hold.
  • For example ‘100k-owned‘ will craft enough to top up to exactly 100,000 without you doing the subtraction.
  • It is also available as a saveable quick-button in the amount presets.
July 11, 2026 v2026.07.11
  • Items page and sidebar items get new options to collapse or expand all sections at once.
July 9, 2026 v2026.07.09.2
  • A new button next to the item search switches between the normal grouped category view and a single flat “All items” list.
  • New Compact option shrinks item rows and section titles so more fits on screen.
  • The Salvage box has been removed from the items page. Utterly useless!
July 9, 2026 v2026.07.09
  • New Compact option for the sidebar item list to show much denser item cards.
  • New Only owned filter to show just the items you own.
  • Equipped is now a category you can show or hide in the sidebar (it’s off by default).
  • Category ‘Stop’ is renamed to ‘Stop in’ and now includes ‘Next categories’ and ‘Loot sources’ so you can pick exactly where pinned items stop showing.
July 8, 2026 v2026.07.08

New Features

  • Create your own item categories: give them a name, emoji, set items and order.
  • Pinned items become the reserved “Pinned” category. You may or may not continue using it.
  • Reorder and hide any Items section (built-in ones too).
  • Museum, Specials, and My Listings are now reorderable and sortable too.
  • Sidebar quick-items: pick which categories appear there.
  • Search now filters inside the categorized view (it no longer drops you to a flat list), auto-expands any collapsed sections the search matches, and has a clear button.
  • Duplicate Relay Network section is now removed.

Bug Fixes

  • When your phone or tab wakes from sleep and reconnects, item counts refresh immediately instead of showing stale numbers.
July 7, 2026 v2026.07.07
  • When you open loot crates, items that exceed your configured autosell limits are automatically sold instead of landing in your inventory.
June 18, 2026 v2026.06.18
  • You can now use k/m/b/t shorthand when setting an item reserve amount, an autosell limit, and an auto-confirm threshold, matching other amount fields in the UI. For real this time!
April 8, 2026 Relay Preparations
  • Per-command caps for several loot-open items are gone. You can open Ocean Bounty, Fancy Crate, Forest Bounty, Hillside Bounty, Cavern Bounty, Lunar Shard, and Exquisite Trunk without the old per-command limits – behavior otherwise stays the same.
March 29, 2026 v2026.03.29
  • Max inventory button settings and redundant button cleanup. (TheDepartedOne)
    • There’s a new setting to control the Use/Equip/Craft button behavior in inventory — you can configure them based on how you’d like the buttons to act.
July 30, 2025 Game Update (07-30-2025)
  • Item sale buttons are now colored red instead of green for visual clarity
  • Daily Rewards now distribute Fancy Crates, Exquisite Trunks and Lunar Shards on every claim
April 29, 2025 Game Update (04-29-2025)
  • Reserve: Set an amount of an Item to always retain during bulk actions
    • Currently only applies to Pet Feed and Boss Attack operations
April 13, 2025 Game Update (04-13-2025)
  • Pinned Items are now displayed below your Actions for quick access
  • Item Info card no longer forces a loading screen when first viewing an Item
  • Item Info card now displays drop rate for each source an Item can be obtained from
  • Items are now searchable by attribute in addition to name (for ex. searching “rare”, “food”, “weapon” will return relevant Items)
March 5, 2025 Spring Fling (Spring 2025)
  • Exquisite Trunk: On use, yields very rare items including Diamonds, Oysters, Platinum and Lucky Charms
January 16, 2025 Game Update (01-16-2025)
  • New “Used to Purchase” section added to item info page
January 6, 2025 Sights and Sounds
  • New graphics have been introduced for some Items, replacing previous placeholder icons
December 27, 2024 Game Update (12-27-2024)
  • An unoptimized algorithm for calculating random item drops that I wrote way back when Items were first introduced (~3 years ago) has been used for Loot Action and Fancy Crate calculations before this point
  • Item drop distribution for every Action has been altered with the new algorithm (due to changes in how calculations are performed, along some manual adjustments for consistency)
December 16, 2024 The Boss Fight Update

November 7, 2023 v8.2.0

Gameplay Updates

  • Item Changes Bconomy’s item storage and crafting logic have been completely reimplemented in the backend. The old system had chronic issues, limiting what we could do with items and their interaction with in-game mechanics. This change should be mostly invisible to users aside from some items temporarily losing their crafting recipes, renaming certain loot items, and slight base worth adjustments. Some items have received new icons on the Web Client.

Platform Updates

  • Inventory Management A long-awaited feature, the Web Client now includes drastic improvements to game item management. Items are now sorted by category (Craftable, Material, Loot, etc) and include clear at-a-glance indications to current usage and status. Items are now multi-selectable by tapping on the item’s icon, and can be bulk managed. Keyboard shortcuts like shift-clicking and Ctrl-A are functional.
