Ascension is how you start over from the bottom of the rank ladder in exchange for a permanent step up. You can Ascend once you reach God rank. Each Ascension raises your account Tier by 1, sends your rank back to Peasant and gives you Runes.
| Needs | God rank, and BC for every Ascension after the first |
|---|---|
| Resets | Your rank, back to Peasant |
| Gives | 5 Runes, a bigger Work bonus and new feature unlocks |
| Affected by | The Anointment Prestige perk |
Tier
[edit | edit source]Your Tier counts how many times you have Ascended. Tier 0 is your first climb, before any Ascension. Tiers are written in Roman numerals.
What resets and what is kept
[edit | edit source]Only your rank resets. Everything else is kept across Ascensions, including your inventory, Pets, Farm, Relay, Tools, Quest Level, Prestige perks and the features you unlocked. The BC cost of the Ascension is paid from your balance, and whatever remains is yours.
Cost
[edit | edit source]- Your first Ascension is free.
- Every Ascension after that costs BC, and the price rises with each Tier. Ascending to Tier 2 costs about 1.65 billion BC, and each Tier after that costs about 550 million BC more than the one before.
- The Anointment Prestige perk lowers this cost by up to 50% at its top level.
- The next climb is more expensive too: every rank costs more at a higher Tier. Rank prices are multiplied by 1 plus your Tier. See Ranks.
You can pick a destination in the rank-up window by choosing a Tier and a rank. The game then works out how many rank-ups and Ascensions it takes and what they cost, so you can plan several climbs at once. It stops at the last one you can afford.
What you gain
[edit | edit source]- Runes: 5 Runes for every Tier you reach. Runes buy Prestige perks, and the Pyre also spends them.
- A bigger Work bonus: your Tier adds to your Work multiplier. The first Tiers add the most and later Tiers add less each time. See Work.
- Feature unlocks: the Prestige page opens at Tier I, and the Fun House opens at Tier V. After you Ascend, every rank requirement counts as met, so you can unlock any rank-gated feature you had not unlocked yet. See Ranks.
How Ascension connects to other features
[edit | edit source]- Ranks: God is the rank you must reach, and Ascension resets it.
- Prestige: Runes and perks are the main reward.
- Actions: your Tier raises Work pay.
- Achievements: your Tier counts toward Achievements.
- Pyre: Runes can be spent there.
